We are seeking an experienced Captain/Engineer to join a 24m private/charter sailing yacht. This is a long-term position within a well-established, family-oriented sailing program offering exciting offshore passages and regatta participation.
Role Overview – Captain/Engineer
The Captain/Engineer will be fully responsible for the safe operation, navigation, and technical management of the yacht. This is a hands-on role suited to a passionate sailor who enjoys running a sailing yacht independently and leading a small team.
Requirements:
- Proven experience running sailing yachts of a similar size (minimum First Mate level)
- Strong sailing background with offshore and regatta experience
- MCA qualified
- Yachtmaster Ocean (Commercially Endorsed)
- AEC 2 required
- Solid engineering knowledge and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and proactively manage maintenance
- Confident leader with a calm, professional approach
- Enjoys a hands-on sailing and operational role
Program & Itinerary
- 2026: Newport–Bermuda Race, followed by an Atlantic crossing back to the Mediterranean
- Summer cruising around the Balearic Islands
- Maintenance period at Badalona shipyard
- 2027: Planned participation in Naples for the America’s Cup and selected Mediterranean regattas
- Approx. 4–6 weeks of charter per year (maximum 6 guests)
- Winter base: Palma de Mallorca (live aboard not required if based locally)

- Family-owned yacht (two adults and two teenagers)
- Relaxed, professional, and sailing-focused environment
- Long-term vision (10–12 years)
- Crew structure: Captain/Engineer + 2 additional crew hired seasonally during charters ( july-oct)
- Salary
- €7,000 per month, depending on experience
