Summary
We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Captain who will take delivery of two vessels, the first in June 2026 and the second in June 2027.
The first vessel is a 48ft Anvera, the second is a 45m Mangusta. (Both Vessel are new builds)
Both vessels will be operating primarily in the Western Mediterranean with a home berth in the South of France.
· Anvera 48ft Chase Boat: 1 Captain and 1 temporary deckhand, delivery spring 2026 - Based SOF
· Mangusta 45m Day Boat: 1 Captain and 6 crew, delivery June 2027 - Based SOF
The role involves bringing online and overseeing the operation of the chase boat during the 2026 summer season, ensuring safety, compliance, and exceptional vessel presentation.
After the summer of 2026, the Captain will play a key role in supervising the final construction of a new 45m Mangusta, providing support during shipyard attendance (on site in Italy) until delivery in spring 2027. The Captain will manage commissioning, vessel operations, crew, and maintenance, and be responsible for ensuring owner service requirements are met. This is a senior leadership position requiring expert knowledge of vessel safety, maintenance, crew management, warranty practices, and luxury yacht-standard service, as well as adherence to company policies and safety management systems (SMS).
The Captain will work closely with owners, crew, and key stakeholders, planning vessel layups, ensuring all statutory regulations are met, and maintaining high standards of professionalism onboard. You will be working in a professional, supportive environment, with the opportunity to lead operations for state-of-the-art vessels and be a key part of both projects.
Candidate requirements:
- Captain experience holding a Master 500GT as a minimum.
- Valid STCW and ENG1.
- Experience supervising new vessel construction and shipyard attendance, particularly Mangusta builds.
- A service-led captain, committed to providing a refined, discreet high-end experience for owners and guests whilst onboard.
- Strong knowledge of safety, pollution prevention, and information security policies in line with SMS.
- Excellent leadership and crew management skills, with the ability to motivate a professional team.
- Familiarity with vessel maintenance, inventory control, and budget management.
- In-depth understanding of flag, class, insurance, and maritime regulations.
- Competence in conducting safety drills, training exercises, and health and safety management on board.
- Experience planning vessel operations, warranty works, layup schedules and crew leave arrangements.
Compensation Package:
This will be an excellent package on offer, including salary, generous leave and 13th month bonus. Base will be south of France with most itinerary limited to western Med. Accommodation and per diem to be discussed depending on candidate and residence. In event of any flights, business class. Annual performance reviews.
The package covers delivery of the chase boat and operation during the 2026 season, managing the yacht build throughout that period, and transitioning into the yacht Captain role to focus on the final stages of the Mangusta build and delivery and operation from summer 2027.
