Overview and Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced Laundress to join a prestigious private household in Mayfair. This is a key role within a professional household team, responsible for the impeccable care of all garments, wardrobes, and household linens. The successful candidate will bring exceptional attention to detail, discretion, and expertise in luxury garment care, ensuring the highest standards are maintained at all times.

Key Responsibilities
The Laundress will have full responsibility for all laundry and wardrobe care within the household, including washing, handwashing, steaming, ironing, and stain removal. You will expertly care for fine and luxury garments such as couture, silk, cashmere, and formalwear, ensuring every item is handled with precision and discretion.
You will organise and maintain wardrobes, including seasonal rotation, packing and unpacking for travel, and correct storage of garments and accessories. The role also includes liaising with dry cleaners, managing repairs and specialist cleaning, and overseeing simple mending or arranging tailoring when required.
You will manage household linens and towels, ensuring correct stock rotation and immaculate presentation at all times. The laundry room must be kept organised, well-stocked, and maintained to the highest standards. During quieter periods, you may be asked to assist the wider housekeeping team as needed. Absolute discretion and confidentiality are essential.
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years’ experience in a dedicated Laundress role within a UHNW private household, luxury yacht, or five-star hotel environment. You will have expert knowledge of fabrics, stain removal, and the care of delicate and high-value garments, along with proven wardrobe management and travel packing experience.
You will be detail-oriented, proactive, and calm under pressure, with excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach. Fluency in English, the right to work in the UK, and checkable references are required.
