45m Private / Charter Motor Yacht
A 45 metre private/charter motor yacht is seeking an experienced and motivated Chief Officer to join a busy and well-run vessel.
Position Overview
The Chief Officer will play a key role in supporting the Captain with the safe navigation and operation of the yacht. When the Captain is not onboard, the Chief officer will be expected to take full command of the vessel. The role includes direct responsibility for the deck team and requires strong leadership, organisation, and clear communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting the Captain with the safe navigation and operation of the vessel
- Taking command of the yacht in the Captain’s absence
- Direct management and supervision of two deckhands and one bosun
- Oversight of all deck operations, maintenance, and safety procedures
- Management and training of deck crew
- Active involvement in refit planning, shipyard liaison, and project oversight
- Tender driving and operation of water sports equipment
- Ensuring compliance with flag state, class, and safety regulations
- Maintaining high standards of safety, professionalism, and presentation
Requirements
- Minimum 500 GT certification
- Previous experience as Chief Officer or Senior Officer on similar-sized yachts preferred
- Strong bridge, navigation, and safety knowledge
- Full confidence in general deck maintenance, tender driving, and water sports
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills
- Positive attitude, career-driven mindset, and strong team-player mentality
- Proven longevity on previous vessels
- Excellent references are essential
