A Rotational Chief Engineer – 60m+ Private/Charter Yacht | South Pacific
HMG is seeking an experienced and professional Rotational Chief Engineer to join a well-run 60m+private/charter yacht operating in the South Pacific.
This is an excellent long-term opportunity offering a true 8 weeks on / 8 weeks off rotation, single cabin, and a competitive salary of USD 11,500 per month. There are yearly reviews, remaining Chief has had Business class fights after one year of service. The yacht is maintained to a high standard and values stability, professionalism, and teamwork within its engineering department.
We are looking for a hands-on Chief Engineer with proven yacht experience who can seamlessly integrate into an established engineering team. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical competence, leadership, and a commitment to longevity rather than short-term placements.
Key Requirements & Preferences
Y2 (or equivalent) certification
Minimum 3 years’ sea time on yachts
Yacht experience essential
Commercial or trade background preferred
B1/B2 visa ideally held
Excellent references and a proven employment history
(candidates with frequent job changes will not be considered)
Joining Details
Joining location: Australia
Start date: End of January (subject to visa approval)
The yacht will cover the required Australian visa
This role will suit a motivated Chief Engineer seeking stability, rotational balance, and a professionally managed program on a quality vessel. Owners are very good, they engage with all crew, the maintenance budget is very healthy and they will be south pacific based for the next year or so.
