Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team during a busy charter in the Caribbean. This temporary position, ASAP, offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic kitchen environment, contributing to the creation of exceptional dishes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in preparing and presenting high-quality meals.
- Supervise kitchen staff and coordinate cooking activities.
- Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are consistently met.
- Manage inventory and assist with ordering supplies.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop seasonal menus.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff.
- Handle food preparation and cooking according to established recipes and standards.
- Respond to customer feedback and adjust menu offerings as necessary.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role.
- Culinary degree or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and kitchen operations.
- Must hold a valid STCW certification and ENG1 medical certificate.
- Normal driving license preferred.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Passion for food and commitment to quality.
