The Candidate Specification
We are seeking a Temporary Chief Engineer to join a busy and well-run 40m+ charter yacht for a 4 - 6 week contract. This temporary position will cover an upcoming charter trip, and charter tips will be included. The role offers an excellent salary and requires the engineer to share a cabin. Ideally, candidates will be located within the USA, although we are open to strong applicants based internationally.
The yacht operates a professional and mature programme with a relaxed, down-to-earth, and ego-free crew of nine. The crew culture onboard is supportive, balanced, and teamwork-focused, creating a comfortable and efficient working environment.
Candidates must bring solid engineering experience, including time served as Chief Engineer on yachts of a similar size. Strong technical ability and the confidence to step into a fast-paced charter environment are essential, as is the ability to work independently while contributing positively to the overall crew dynamic. A B1/B2 visa is required for this position. The ideal candidate is calm, professional, and solutions-driven, capable of maintaining all engineering operations smoothly throughout the temporary contract.
This contract is for 4 - 6 weeks, includes one charter with tips paid, and no paid holiday.
