Summary
We are seeking a skilled Sous/2nd Chef to join the culinary team aboard a 58m motor yacht based in the United States. In this temporary position, you will assist the Head Chef in preparing high-quality meals for the crew and guests, maintaining kitchen organization, and ensuring food safety standards are met. Your responsibilities will include menu planning, food preparation, and inventory management. The ideal candidate will possess strong culinary skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. A commitment to teamwork and a professional demeanor are essential, along with flexibility to adapt to changing needs onboard. This role is suited for individuals who thrive in dynamic settings and are passionate about culinary excellence. We can take someone green to the industry as long as they have a culinary background. The head chef is happy to teach, but when the work and time allows.
The position is with live on board owners, but the pace on board is quite relaxed, usually no more than 7-8 hour days.
The current crew is a very active and outgoing bunch, and the ideal candidate would fit into this dynamic well. We have a good mix of British, South African, Australian, Kiwi, and other nationalities on board.
