Summary
We are a private owner-couple starting a crewed charter program in the Bahamas on our well-maintained 2014 Leopard 58 sailing catamaran. The owners will always be aboard for every week-long charter.
We are looking for a licensed captain with little or no previous charter experience who wants to build real paid charter days and strong references on a popular, modern catamaran. Since we as owners will live aboard, this is an excellent entry-level opportunity for a newly qualified captain to gain the exact experience and testimonials that lead to independent captain jobs in the future.
Key Responsibilities
• Serve as the official Captain of Record (legal and safety compliance) for all week-long guest charters
• Welcome guests, deliver yacht and safety briefings, and be a friendly professional face on the charter
• Assist with sailing, anchoring, and dinghy operations as needed
• Help keep guests happy – light hosting, itinerary suggestions, and ensuring a great experience
• Keep the captain’s log and complete basic charter paperwork
Required Qualifications
• Valid RYA Yachtmaster Offshore (commercially endorsed) OR USCG 100-ton (or higher) Master with Sailing Endorsement
• Current STCW & Medical certification
• Positive, guest-service attitude and communication in English
• Clean background and references
Schedule & Compensation
• Week-long charters, primarily December 2025 – July 2026 (calendar provided well in advance)
• $200 per charter day or a negotiated monthly salary
• Equal share of guest gratuities
• Boarding and meals onboard covered
If you’ve recently earned your commercial license and are excited to turn it into real charter experience on a beautiful Leopard 58 in the Bahamas, this is the perfect stepping-stone role.
Please send your CV, copies of licenses/certificates, and a short note explaining why you’re interested. We look forward to hearing from you!
