Junior Deckhand / Deckhand – 50m Private Sailing Yacht
We are seeking a motivated Junior Deckhand / Deckhand to join our professional crew aboard a 50m private sailing yacht. This is a great opportunity for someone with a solid work ethic who wants to gain experience onboard a larger sailing yacht and be part of a busy, dynamic program.
About the Yacht & Program
- 50m private sailing yacht
- Primarily cruising the Mediterranean, with previous itineraries extending farther afield
- Excellent, respectful owners who value a well-run and happy crew
- Currently in a busy yard period, including a full mast stepping and refit projects
- Upcoming cruising season starting June
Role & Responsibilities
- Assist with all deck operations: cleaning, maintenance, line handling, sailing duties, washdowns, and tender operations
- Support the deck team during the yard period: sanding, painting, detailing, rigging support, and general upkeep
- Participate in sailing manoeuvres and anchoring operations
- Maintain high standards of seamanship, safety, and professionalism
- Be a positive, proactive team member who works well within a team
Requirements
- Any form of dinghy sailing or small-boat sailing background is highly advantageous
- Yachtmaster Offshore is a strong bonus
- STCW and ENG1 (valid)
- Must be confident working aloft
- Must be a strong swimmer and comfortable assisting with water sport activities
- Good work ethic, positive attitude, and ability to adapt during busy periods
