Summary
Burgess Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced carpenter for a 120m+ New Build.
We are seeking an experienced and versatile Carpenter to join the team on a New build superyacht as it transitions from the final build stages into full operation.
This hybrid role combines precision carpentry and joinery with active participation in deck operations, offering an excellent opportunity for a skilled tradesperson who is equally confident working with fine materials and leading a small team on deck.
Requirements
· Minimum 5 years’ experience as a marine or fine furniture carpenter; prior superyacht experience strongly preferred.
· Excellent understanding of high-end joinery materials, finishing, and repair techniques.
· Proven deck competence with solid knowledge of yacht operations.
· Demonstrated leadership ability and confidence managing deck crew when required.
· Team player with a proactive, positive attitude and flexibility to assist across departments.
Responsibilities
· Support completion and commissioning of all interior and exterior carpentry during the final build phase.
· Execute detailed joinery, furniture fitting, and finishing work to the highest superyacht standards.
· Conduct maintenance and repair of woodwork, interior panels, exterior furniture, and teak decks throughout the vessel’s service life.
· Collaborate closely with the build, interior, and deck departments to ensure quality and schedule alignment.
· Participate fully in deck operations including mooring, anchoring, wash downs, tender operations, and guest preparation.
· Lead the deck team in the absence of the Bosun, ensuring safe, efficient, and professional operations.
· Assist during guest-on periods, maintaining immaculate standards across all deck and woodwork areas.
· Uphold the highest safety, seamanship, and presentation standards at all times.
