Summary

Position: CAPTAIN/ENGINEER SAILOR - US or GREEN CARD - US Work Authorization required for this American flagged sailing yacht. 

Sailing experience / racing a plus - very High Tech 

Ideally full time, however could be winter season.


LIVE OFF or ON. The set up for crew and guests are very open. Not much privacy.

Yacht: 76' CLASSIC Sailing Yacht - US Flag

Location: US - Florida


Start date: ASAP


Itinerary: US - home base West Palm Beach winter/Bahamas trips, Newport, RI summer.

Many day sails with VIPs. 

 

Once based in WPB some trips to the Bahamas.


Licence: Master 200gt+ - Previous sailing experience / racing experience

Solid Captain and engineering experience.


Requirements: **Must be a US citizen or eligible to work in the US. 

STCW95 + Refresher and ENG1/or USCG Medical - FIT FOR DUTY. 


Experienced hands-on Captain and Engineer. 


Responsibilities: Captain and ENGINEERING

- sailing operations, passage planning, docking, and yacht maintenance

- Help with guest activities and excursions

- Safety

- Be a collaborative, upbeat team member and motivator

  • Highly technical - must have strong understanding of mechanics


Other:

- Experience on boats and a love for sailing

- A strong work ethic, team spirit and positive attitude

- Someone who is willing to adapt, learn and take pride in your work


Job Specifics: Sailing with an owner that treats you like part of the family. Meals are eaten together, help each other and work as a solid team. You will sail the East Coast with some trips to the Bahamas. 

Runs with 3 crew and a race team for regattas. Captain/Engineer, Mate/Engineer and Stew/Deck/Cook will run privately.

 

This is a beautiful recently refit classic sailing yacht. Designed to race. The owner loves sailing. He is fit and active. The crew quarters are unique. Some are partially open so this will be worked out so that everyone feels comfortable. It will depend on how many guests are on board on how they will be worked out. 


Salary range: USD - Within yachting salary guidelines depending on experience - to be discussed doe. 

 

Package: To be discussed during interview process.
