Summary
We are looking for a well-rounded Sous Chef to join a yacht that has just had its galley set up. The role involves:
Assisting the Head Chef with cooking for the crew and supporting guest food preparation ahead of a potential short first owners’ trip.
Working closely with the Head Chef, not only as a “crew chef,” but ideally as someone who also holds a Ship’s Cook Certificate. Not essential but preferred.
Contract details:
Duration: 1st October – 15th December (2.5 months)
You will work alongside the Head Chef for the first half of the contract, then cover his leave for the last ~5 weeks, independently running a brand-new, fully equipped galley.
Responsibilities will include cooking nutritious, high-quality meals for 10–12 crew with no budget restrictions, and ensuring smooth galley operations.
The role includes an Atlantic crossing, so prior crossing experience is strongly preferred, and it is essential that you do not suffer from seasickness.
