Couples Position
Seeking an Engineer + 2nd Stew/Deck couple for a busy private program with lots of exploring, adventure, fishing, spearfishing & diving trips and great crew longevity onboard. Looking for a hardworking hands-on Deck/Stew who ideally has 50M+ pedigree yacht experience. The boat is kept in immaculate condition at all times. Currently in process of adding an 80m yacht to the fleet, with possibilities for crew to cross over to the new yacht.
Selection process: 90 day probation/trial period, with annual contract offer. Currently lots of perks, gifts, crew meals, vacations, etc from the owners. Owner’s are very generous and not afraid to pay to keep crew who are high performers and have longevity with their program.
Itinerary 2024 - 2025: Bahamas, Caribbean, Florida. Lots of fun adventurous trips, fishing, spearfishing, SCUBA diving, shark diving, hunting, exploring. Crew permitted to participate with owners/guests on these trips.
Crew: 7 crew. Fun, athletic, active, mid 20’s - mid 30’s, all very laid back, healthy, very hard working, long term crew members. Mixed crew nationalities. Most crew have established lives in Fort Lauderdale, homes, dogs, etc. And enjoy a healthy work/life balance.
Crew Accommodation: The Engineer will have his own cabin with a full size bed, and own bathroom. Cabins are finished same quality as guest cabins. Small but functional crew lounge.
Usage: Averaging 8-10 guest trips a year, avg 5-7 days each, 2-8 guests, who are usually in bed before 10pm. Extremely rare to have a back to back trip or have guest show up on short notice. Boat returns to Fort Lauderdale between each trip.
Off-Charter: 2nd Stew/deck will assist the First Mate on deck, wash downs, tender ops, etc. On-Charter: The 2nd stew will be entirely on the interior. Assisting the chief stew in all aspects, beds, heads, laundry, service, etc.
Owners: They are active, self made, humble, hard working American family who love to explore, adventure, water sports, surfing, fishing, diving, etc. The family are very friendly, personable, interactive, relatively low demand. They like to explore new places, and travel off the beaten path. They are not a huge party crowd and are typically in bed early. Since the beginning of the program, crew have enjoyed skiing, snowboarding, horseback riding, hunting, fishing, hiking and time at their beach home.
Requirements:
Qualifications: STCW, ENG1, B1/B2. Deck experience is advantageous, but can easily be taught. Must be extremely capable with housekeeping duties; laundry, beds, heads, etc.
2nd Stew/Deck MUSTS: ABSOLUTE NON-SMOKER, NON-PARTIER, NO DRINKING ONBOARD, NO DRUGS, NO DRUNKS, NO DRAMA. *Pre-employment drug screening & background check required before trial upon hire. Random drug testing program. Must maintain IMMACULATE work spaces and personal cabin space at all times. Must have an eagle eye for detail, high level of organization and a very easy going personality. Must be hands on, not afraid to hustle, work long hard hours, and be a team player and help in other departments when needed. The guests, while easy going, have become accustomed to a high level of service.
Package:
Salary: $3,000 - $4,500 monthly DOE / negotiable
Bonuses: 13th month bonus, paid in full at 12months , then 1/2 mo. salary paid every 6months, beginning at 18mo of full time employment. (18mo, 24mo, 30mo, 36mo…etc.) Raises: 5% salary increase annually after 1yr of full time employment. Vacation / Holiday Plan: Accrue 2.5 days for each full month worked. Eligible for holiday pay after 1 full year of employment.
