Summary
HIGHLY SKILLED RUSSIAN-SPEAKING LAUNDRESS REQUIRED FOR UHNW FAMILY IN CENTRAL LONDON
Location: Central London
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £50,000 per annum, negotiable depending on experience
Status: Live-out
A highly skilled and professional Russian-speaking Laundress is sought to take the lead in caring for the wardrobe and linens of a private VIP household in London. This role focuses primarily on laundry and garment care, with occasional support in housekeeping, assisting a team of housekeepers. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of fabric care, a meticulous approach to their work, and the discretion needed in a high-profile environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the household’s laundry, which includes washing, drying, pressing, folding, and organising garments and linens with precision and care. You will be expected to sort items based on colour, fabric type, and care labels to avoid any damage and ensure everything is treated appropriately. Your fabric care knowledge will be key when handling delicate items such as hand-washables, dry-clean-only garments, and specialty textiles.
You will also take charge of stain removal, identifying and treating any marks or spots using appropriate methods and maintaining a record of care instructions for certain items. Ironing and finishing are critical aspects of this role — every garment should be returned wrinkle-free, correctly pressed, and ready to wear or store. High standards of presentation are essential. In addition to your laundry duties, you will also support the housekeepers with tasks to support the smooth running of the household – this will be about a quarter of your role.
Working 5 days per week on a rolling schedule with two consecutive days off per week, working hours are from 7am-5pm on weekdays, and 8am-6pm if you’re scheduled to work over the weekend – you will be guaranteed at least one weekend off per month.
