Permanent Deckhand – Private 40m+ S/Y
We are looking for a Junior Deckhand with a strong sailing foundation to join a high-performance private sailing yacht. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to transition into yachting with the right skillset and attitude. The boat offers fantastic crew longevity, structured onboard training, and a varied dual-season itinerary.
Start date: Flexible – ideally August/September
Itinerary: Varied cruising schedule, winter refit until May
Package: Salary (DOE), 35 days leave
Experience/Skills required:
• Solid sailing background – flotillas, racing, classics, or personal sailing experience
• Basic seamanship knowledge and a genuine desire to learn and grow in yachting
• Positive attitude – level-headed, fun, and motivated to progress on deck
• Chase boat experience is a plus
• Willingness to take part in both training and hands-on work (50/50 learning opportunity)
• Excellent crew longevity and supportive environment
Qualifications required:
• STCW (fully updated)
• Seafarer's Medical Certificate
• Yachtmaster Offshore (preferred)
• Powerboat Level 2 (preferred)
• Seaman’s Discharge Book
