Overview: A private family in Long Island, NY, is seeking an experienced and professional Live-In House Manager / Personal Assistant to oversee the management of their primary and secondary residences, as well as support their day-to-day lifestyle. This role offers accommodation in a private back house at the estate, as well as a vehicle for personal and professional use. The family values privacy, professionalism, and long-term relationships with their staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Household Management
- Oversee the operations and maintenance of the family’s multiple properties
- Supervise a team of full-time housekeepers, ensuring all homes are maintained to the highest standard.
- Manage vendors, household systems, and any troubleshooting across properties
- Ensure the new construction and transition into larger residences are seamless
2. Personal Assistance
- Assist with daily household tasks including provisioning, errands, flower arrangements, and other personal duties.
- Coordinate family logistics such as school pick-ups, homework help, and transportation.
- Provide administrative support and manage the family’s day-to-day schedule and needs.
3. Yacht Support
- Maintain the interior of the family’s motor yacht, ensuring it is well-stocked and organized.
- Accompany the family on summer yacht trips and assist with provisioning, housekeeping, and light service duties.
- Prepare light platters (no full meal preparation required).
Desired Candidate Characteristics:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role, managing both household and personal needs for a private family or individual.
- Must be independent and highly competent
- Capable of building long-term, trusted relationships with the family
- Strong organizational, leadership, and multitasking
Schedule: The family’s schedule is fluid, so flexibility is essential. There are no fixed work hours, and workdays will vary week-to-week. Typically, the candidate will receive two days off per week, with the expectation of being fully available when the family is at home.
