CAPTAIN NEEDED FOR A 23m SUNSEEKER BASED IN PALMA

Schedule. Palma Based with trips around the Balearics
A wonderful opportunity has arisen for an experienced and professional Captain to take command of a 23-meter Sunseeker, based year-round in Palma, Mallorca.
The successful candidate will work for a friendly, active family with two energetic children who are passionate about watersports and boating.
The vessel is primarily used for day trips around Mallorca and the Balearics, with occasional overnight cruises and extended visits to Ibiza and Menorca.
The family values a service-minded, proactive individual who is as comfortable navigating the yacht and supporting general logistics at their beautiful residential property, which is currently under construction on the island. Property duties will be conducted when the principles are not on island and during the winters
The ideal candidate will be Mature, responsible, and service-oriented with at least 2 years experience in a similar role. Enjoys working closely with n active family. Comfortable balancing yacht management with light household oversight. Looking for a stable, long-term position with variety and responsibility
A Stew/Cook will be hired for the season or for guest trips
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Full command and safe operation of the 23m Sunseeker
- Navigate local waters and plan trips, ensuring a seamless experience for the principals
- Maintain all systems and ensure the vessel is always in top condition
- Act as a hands-on Captain, covering deck, engineering, and basic maintenance tasks
- Supervise any seasonal or day crew as needed
- Manage all provisioning, budgeting, refueling, and port arrangements
- Oversee tender use and watersports setup with the family
- Support the family’s household and estate needs during off-season and when yacht is not in use
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and the villa project team on behalf of the owners
REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLICATION
- Minimum MCA Yachtmaster Offshore with commercial endorsement
- Valid STCW and ENG1
- Proven experience as Captain on similar-sized vessels
- Strong local knowledge of Balearic cruising grounds
- Sound engineering ability and troubleshooting skills
- High level of self-sufficiency and discretion
- Energetic and child-friendly personality
- Fluent in English; Spanish a plus
- Suited to candidates who are already Palma Based
- Drivers Licence is needed
