We are seeking a Temporary First Mate for the month of February to join a private and charter yacht program operating primarily in The Bahamas.
Key Responsibilities
- Directly support the Captain with daily vessel operations, navigation assistance, safety, and deck management
- Lead all exterior operations including docking, anchoring, line handling, water sports setup, and general maintenance
- Strong tender driving and towing experience is essential
- Work closely with the Deck/Stew, who assists with exterior duties during charters and maintenance periods
- Assist with guest activities during charters; occasional light interior support may be required
- Minimal paperwork — Mini-ISM only, with full support from the Captain
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Mate, or a Senior Deckhand stepping up
- Confident, hands-on approach with solid vessel-handling and deck systems knowledge
- Strong leadership skills, good attitude, and team-player mentality
- Professional, reliable, and charter-minded
- Candidates currently located in the U.S. or Bahamas strongly preferred
