The 3rd Steward (ess) is under the management of the senior interior crew. On a small yacht this would be a more junior role but on a larger yacht with a big interior team this position could be quite senior, also if on a larger vessel you could either rotate through all areas of the interior or be allocated to housekeeping or service department. The role could consist of housekeeping, laundry and service such as cleaning and upkeep of the interior, both guest and crew areas. Providing guest turn-up, turndown service, laundry, ironing, stain removal, fabric care. Food and beverage service, depending on the vessel fine dining or silver service maybe required, bar tending, barista, flower arranging and plant care. Assisting the Chief stewardess with other duties such as provisioning of guest and crew items such as toiletries, towels and linens, logging inventory.
