Start: On or before May 20 (join in Panama or Costa Rica)
Summer Location: Northeast U.S. (solo vessel through summer)
Compensation: DOE (dependent on experience)

We are seeking a capable Sportfish Mate to join an 82’ Viking operating as part of a larger fleet. This is a hands-on, private / charter yacht fishing program—organisation, professionalism, and strong product knowledge are essential.
Key Responsibilities
• Support day-to-day operations of the 82’ Viking with a high standard of care and cleanliness
• Assist with fishing program execution (rigging, tackle management, deck operations, fish handling, general readiness)
• Maintain and organize onboard equipment, tools, and inventory
• Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting (comfortable using tools is required)
• Operate and manage tender operations (we tow a 25ft Contender) including safe docking/undocking, line handling, hooking up to tow and guest support as needed
Requirements
• Prior sportfish/yacht experience preferred; strong seamanship expected
• Tender driving proficiency (25’ center console / towing program experience a plus)
• Mechanically minded and confident with tools / basic maintenance
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
• Professional attitude and strong communication
- Willing to help out on the main yacht from time to time. This is reciprocated
Tentative Itinerary / Dockage
- Charter Fishing Trip Around Costa Rica / Panama In Tandem With Main Yacht
• Depart Panama ~April 20 for Ft. Lauderdale
• Newport, RI by Memorial Day
• Dockage secured May–October at Safe Harbor NEB Shipyard (Rhode Island) With Owners Close By
• Working on additional dockage for the tender
