Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Chief Officer to join a professionally run 47M U.S.-flagged motor yacht operating a dual private and charter program. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to a career-minded mariner who thrives in a dynamic environment and maintains the highest standards of seamanship, safety, and guest service.
The Chief Officer will work closely with the Captain to ensure safe navigation, regulatory compliance, deck operations, maintenance oversight, and crew leadership.
Minimum Requirements
- US Passport or legal resident
- USCG Master 200 Ton License (Near Coastal or Oceans preferred)
- Minimum 5+ years of professional yachting experience
- Previous experience on vessels 40M+ preferred
- Valid STCW (BST, Advanced Firefighting preferred)
- Valid U.S. Passport
- ENG1 or USCG Medical Certificate
- Strong tender driving experience
- Proven leadership and crew management ability
Primary Responsibilities
- Act as second-in-command and oversee deck department
- Maintain SMS compliance and U.S. regulatory adherence
- Lead safety drills and onboard training
- Passage planning and navigational oversight
- Manage deck maintenance programs and inventory
- Supervise water sports and tender operations
- Support charter operations and guest experience
- Assist Captain with ISM/ISPS (if applicable)
