Summary
We are seeking an experienced Chief Officer to join a 100m+ new build private motor yacht. The yacht will operate primarily as a private platform with potential limited charter activity and a worldwide cruising program.
This is a senior operational role, responsible for deck operations, safety management, and crew leadership, working closely with the Captain and Chief Engineer during the transition from new build to full operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as second-in-command, supporting the Captain in daily operations
- Lead all deck operations, including navigation, anchoring, mooring, and tender activities
- Manage and develop the deck team, ensuring high standards and discipline
- Implement and maintain deck SOPs, safety procedures, and drills
- Support new build handover, sea trials, and commissioning
- Ensure compliance with ISM, ISPS, Flag State, and Class requirements
- Assist with passage planning for worldwide cruising
- Maintain a professional, safety-focused, and service-oriented onboard culture
Requirements
- OOW Unlimited (minimum); Chief Mate Unlimited preferred
- Proven experience on yachts 90m+
- Experience with >3000 GT operations
- New build or major refit exposure
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Fluent English and multinational crew experience
- Valid STCW and medical certification
