Summary
Chief Officer – 45m Charter Motor Yacht
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Chief Officer to join a busy 45m charter motor yacht operating across the Bahamas and Caribbean.
The vessel is Fort Lauderdale based for approximately 8 months of the year, making this role particularly well suited to candidates located in Florida or the U.S, or those able to easily commute to South Florida.
This is an excellent opportunity for a strong, hands-on Chief Mate looking to progress toward a Captain role. For the right candidate, there will be opportunities to step up and take command once they have proven themselves onboard.
Key Requirements
• OOW 3000 minimum
• Close to achieving Master 3000 (or actively completing requirements)
• Valid B1/B2 visa (essential)
• Proven experience as Chief Officer or Senior First Mate on similar-size yachts
• Strong tender-driving skills (guests onboard, beach landings, water sports support)
• Confident deck operations: anchoring, mooring, navigation support, safety drills, and maintenance oversight
• Calm, professional leadership style with the ability to lead and motivate deck crew
• Charter-focused mindset with strong guest interaction skills
Role & Responsibilities
• Assist the Captain with navigation, safety, and overall vessel management
• Lead and manage the deck team with a calm, structured approach
• Oversee deck maintenance, safety equipment, and operational readiness
• Drive tenders during guest operations and excursions
• Act as relief Captain when required, once familiar with the vessel
