Chief Engineer needed for 40M Explorer yacht
Start date: beginning of March
Package on offer: EUR salary and 44 days leave / year
Position to start in the Med - possibility for worldwide itinerary
Requirements: STCW Basic Safety, ENG1 Medical Certificate, Y3 or Y2 CoC
Security Awareness/Designated Security Duties
Strong organisational ability for maintenance planning, budgeting, and spares management
Proven experience running a small or single handed engineering department
Competence in managing shipyard periods, refits, and warranty issues
Effective technical reporting and documentation, including defect logs and compliance records
Ability to liaise confidently with shipyards, surveyors, contractors, and management
Experience with remote cruising logistics, including redundancy planning and critical spares
Solutions focused mindset, especially during technical failures
Clear, proactive communication with Captain and all departments
Strong preventative maintenance ethos
Independent decision making ability with sound judgement under pressure
High standards of professionalism, discretion, and teamwork
