Sole Engineer in Virgin Islands (British)

Summary

We are seeking a rotational Sole Engineer (10:10) to join a private 40m+ S/Y. The vessel is currently in the Caribbean.

This a great program that runs with a crew of 6 who are active and sociable. They enjoy doing activities together such as diving, surfing and hiking.

The role and Itinerary:

- Start date: Early May in the Caribbean.

- Rotation: 10 weeks on / 10 weeks off.

- Itinerary: Summers in Maine area and winters in the Caribbean including a regatta.

- Usage: Strictly private

Candidate Requirements:

- Sailing background: Essential

- Certification: Ideally EOOW (held or currently working towards)

- Visas: B1B2 essential or must be in a position to obtain it prior to start date.

- Experience: Relevant hands-on experience is prioritised over qualifications. Must have held Sole Engineer position on similar size vessels with proven longevity.

- Lifestyle: Ideally would lead an active lifestyle to match the current crew culture.

Package:

- Salary: US$6,000 - $6,500 DOE

Essential Qualifications

Entry Level Qualifications (or equivalent)

• STCW 95 (STCW 2010)
• ENG 1 (Medical Certificate)

Engineering Qualifications (or Merchant, USCG & AMSA equivalent)

• MCA Approved Engine Course (AEC 1 & 2) Certificate
