Summary

A private ultra-high-net-worth estate in Missouri is seeking an experienced Interior Manager to oversee all interior operations of the residence. This role is ideally suited to a candidate with a luxury yachting background (Chief Steward/Stewardess or similar) who brings exceptional standards, leadership, and deep knowledge of luxury interiors, wardrobe care, and presentation.

The Interior Manager will be responsible for maintaining the highest level of excellence across interiors, working collaboratively with existing household staff, and ensuring all luxury items, furnishings, and wardrobes are impeccably cared for and inventoried.

Key Responsibilities

Interior & Household Operations

  • Oversee the daily presentation and condition of all interior spaces within the estate
  • Coordinate and assist housekeeping staff as needed
  • Ensure interiors are always maintained to UHNW standards
  • Manage seasonal rotations, deep cleaning schedules, and specialty services

Wardrobe & Personal Effects Management

  • Manage and maintain the principal’s wardrobe, accessories, and personal collections
  • Ensure correct care, storage, and cleaning of luxury garments and accessories (e.g. Hermès, Chanel, couture pieces)
  • Oversee packing/unpacking for travel and special events
  • Maintain detailed wardrobe and personal item inventories

Luxury Asset & Inventory Management

  • Care for fine furnishings, decorative objects, textiles, and high-value household items
  • Liaise with specialists (dry cleaners, leather/restoration experts, tailors, conservators)
  • Maintain accurate inventories and condition reports

Professional Standards

  • Uphold absolute discretion and confidentiality
  • Anticipate needs and maintain a proactive, service-driven approach
  • Work seamlessly with estate management and other household staff 

Required Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience as an Interior Manager, Chief Stewardess/Steward, or senior interior role on luxury yachts or UHNW estates
  • Strong understanding of luxury wardrobe management and garment care
  • Excellent organizational, inventory, and attention-to-detail skills
  • Experience managing or coordinating interior/housekeeping teams
  • Polished presentation, professionalism, and strong communication skills
  • High level of discretion and trustworthiness

Preferred

  • Background in yachting strongly preferred
  • Experience in large private residences or multi-property estates
  • Familiarity with fine art, antiques, or collectible furnishings
