Summary
As part of the acquisition of a Mangusta 108, which will be shared between two families and also operated for charter, EDMAR International is seeking an experienced Captain with strong engineering expertise to take full responsibility for the yacht’s navigation, operation, and technical management.
Built in 2006 and extensively refitted in 2018/2019 and 2022, the yacht will be based in Monaco as her home port.
Tasks & Responsibilities
• Ensure safe navigation and operation in compliance with international regulations and Maltese flag requirements.
• Plan Mediterranean itineraries, passages, and anchorages in line with weather, technical constraints, and owner preferences.
• Oversee all manoeuvres, port operations, docking, and anchoring.
• Take full responsibility for the yacht’s technical condition, combining Captain and Chief Engineer duties.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot all major systems, including MTU engines, Arneson propulsion, generators, electrical/electronic, hydraulic, air-conditioning, and safety systems.
• Manage preventive and corrective maintenance, refits, shipyard periods, and statutory inspections.
• Ensure regulatory compliance, maintain vessel documentation, and monitor operational and technical budgets.
• Manage crew, duty rosters, and onboard standards of safety and professionalism.
• Act as the primary point of contact for the owner, ensuring smooth, discreet, and confidential operations.
Profile & Conditions :
• Certified Captain for a 33–35 m yacht under Maltese flag, with proven Chief Engineer-level technical expertise.
• Previous experience in a dual Captain / Engineer role or similar position on private yachts, ideally Mangusta or high-performance/open yachts.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of MTU engines and high-speed propulsion systems.
• Excellent knowledge of the Mediterranean.
• Autonomous, reliable, and solutions-focused with strong leadership skills.
• Fluent English required; additional languages an advantage.
• Absolute discretion and long-term commitment essential.
