Summary
Burgess Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Rotational Chief Steward(ess) for a 60m+ private motor yacht.
Candidate requirements (non-negotiable):
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in the yachting industry
- Demonstrated longevity preferred (ideally two or more years on one vessel)
- STCW, ENG1, PDSD, Food Hygiene Level 2
- Schengen visa and B1/B2
- WSET Level 1
- Fluent English
- Leadership and mental health awareness courses are considered a bonus
Service style and skills:
- Lunch is buffet-style, with synchronised dinner service where possible
- Strong wine knowledge required, with wines paired for dinner service
- Cocktail knowledge highly beneficial
- Creative flair with a refined eye for elegant tablescaping
Interior team and operation:
- Interior team of 5
- Second Stewardesses are hands-on, lead daily job lists and morning meetings, acting as key support to the Chief Stewardess
- Chief Stewardess leads dinner service during owner trips
- Manages PA-style responsibilities for the family, including booking meals and coordinating logistics with the Chief Officer.
- Chief Steward(ess) oversees budget forecasting and submits receipts; captains manage accounts

- Calm and emotionally intelligent, leading with empathy and professionalism
- Fosters a fun, supportive, and growth-focused environment for the team
Start date is 27 May 2026 in Italy.
Salary: 7500 EUR
Package 8 weeks on/off
Itinerary: Mediterranean summers and Caribbean winters, with varied cruising including off-the-beaten-track locations
