Position: 2nd Engineer – Explorer Yacht
Vessel is a one off conversion from an offshore supply vessel in the early 2000s. A strong interest to work on an older vessel and systems is a key requirement
Candidates with a strong commercial background are welcome!
Contract Type: Temporary (with potential to become rotational) either onboard the 55m or another vessel within the fleet.
Start Date: Within 2 weeks
We are seeking an experienced and motivated 2nd Engineer to join an Explorer Yacht for an upcoming temporary contract, with potential to transition into a rotational position.
Rotation (if permanent):
- 4 months on / 4 months off
- Salary:
- 100% salary paid while onboard
- 25% salary paid as retainer while off rotation
Key Requirements:
- Available to start within 2 weeks
- Energetic, hands-on, and proactive approach to engineering duties
- Strong technical knowledge and problem-solving skills
- Strong electrical knowledge
- Respectful, adaptable, and comfortable working in a multinational crew environment
- Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
- Valid certificates required for the position
Role Overview:
- Assist the Chief Engineer with daily operations and maintenance
- Work unsupervised assisted by 3rd Engineer/ Motorman
- Carry out routine and preventative maintenance
- Troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and technical systems
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards
