Summary
We are seeking an experienced, professional Captain/Couple for a well-run 40m M/Y, operating dual season in the Mediterranean and Caribbean/Red Sea.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a private program with an experienced owner who values longevity, professionalism, and a hands-on approach.
The Captain will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the vessel, overall management of crew, and maintaining high standards across all departments. Strong leadership, clear communication, and proven experience on similar-sized yachts are essential.
Key responsibilities – Captain:
- Full command of a 40m motor yacht, ensuring safety, compliance, and smooth operations at all times
- Crew management, mentoring, and scheduling, fostering a positive onboard culture
- Navigation, passage planning, and watchkeeping for dual-season cruising
- Budget management, accounts, and cost control
- Oversight of maintenance, ISM, compliance, and shipyard periods
- Liaison with owner, management, agents, and charter clients
- Delivering a high-quality experience for both private use and charter
Captain/Couple option:
For a couple, the partner will ideally fill a onboard role such as Chief Steward/ess, 2nd Stew, Chef, or First Mate, depending on experience. The couple must demonstrate a strong ability to work together professionally, set standards onboard, and support a cohesive team environment.
- Requirements:
- Minimum Master 500gt ticket (Captain)
- Proven experience as Captain on 35–45m motor yachts
- Captain Must have experience cruising the Med and either the Caribbean or Red Sea as a minimum
- Hands-on, practical mindset with good technical awareness
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills
- Clean background, solid references, and longevity in previous roles
- A salary of €10,000 plus bonuses is on offer for the Captain. Partner package to be discussed
- Leave: 90 days for both Captain and partner
