Summary
Looking for a hands on and knowledgeable Chief Officer to join us on this unique, charter expedition yacht. We have a crew of 4 in private use and 8 in charter mode. We normally operate without any engineer in coastal fairwaters (up to 150nm offshore). Therefore it is important that this new Chief Officer is willing to do some work in the engine room, together with the captain and sometimes the deckhand. Everything is basically new onboard, including in the engine room (diesel-electric propulsion). This means that the maintenance is not that highly demanding. Everything is set up well in the maintenance system, so it is mostly quite straight forward. Therefore we are looking for someone who, like the captain, also is not an engineer but that knows how to think logically and to ball ideas and work closely with the captain on all technical aspects, on the bridge as well as in the engine room. On this boat we need to help each other out in the different departments sometimes and work as tight team. You will also need to be safety conscious and used to working with ISM and run a ship professionally. The attributes we are looking for is not the same as are needed on a white boat. It is good if you have a commercial background and have some charter experience from yachting. The crew is now 50/50 Swedish and Dutch, so it would be preferred to have another crew member of same or similar nationality. Any other European would also be considered (and possibly preferred). The owner is super-nice, very easy to deal with and down to earth. There is an industry standard salary and about a couple of month paid holidays on offer, with some room to grow in the position and improve the employment package over time.
