Captain Needed – 85' US-Flagged Private Yacht
An 85-foot US-flagged private yacht is seeking an experienced Captain for a full-time position. This role is open to US citizens or Green Card holders only. B1/B2 visas will not be considered.
The yacht operates with three full-time crew members and hires an additional crew member during busy trips. Current crew structure includes Captain/Engineer, Deck/Mate, and Chef. A Stew is hired as needed. The owner is actively searching for a larger yacht to support a future crew of four to five.
Vessel Program
- Home Base: West Palm Beach, FL
- Owner’s condo is under construction in Boca Raton; temporary onboard living required
- Spring Itinerary: Bahamas (Exumas) beginning April 14, followed by a return to West Palm Beach
- Summer Base: Montauk, NY
- Summer season is very busy with heavy owner usage
- Owners frequently visit NYC on weekends and use the yacht extensively throughout the season
Position Requirements
- Proven experience as Captain on a vessel of similar size
- Ability to manage a high-usage private yacht program
- Responsible for vessel operations, safety, maintenance, and crew management
- Candidates may live ashore and commute when in home port
- Must hold a valid US passport or Green Card
Compensation
- Salary: $10,000 per month, DOE
