Summary
An experienced, suitably qualified, passionate, and highly professional Head of Security is required for a private 100-metre+ motor yacht currently based in the EU. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in maritime security (close protection advantageous), with a proven track record on large yachts (80 m+) or comparable high-risk, high-profile environments. This is a top-of-the-industry position requiring an impeccable CV that demonstrates longevity, discretion, sound judgement, and strong leadership. The successful candidate must be capable of managing all onboard security operations, maintaining close coordination with the captain and senior officers, and ensuring the safety of owners, guests, crew, and assets at all times. This role is suited to an individual seeking long-term commitment to a prestigious and well-established programme. You should be highly adaptable, physically fit, calm under pressure, proactive, and able to add immediate value through experience, situational awareness, and professionalism. Mother-tongue English is preferred; however, candidates of all nationalities will be considered.
The start date for this role is the last week of January or the first week of February 2026. Candidates that need to serve notice may be considered but we will need to act quickly.
Job Specification
- Valid STCW '10 Certificates
- Valid ENG1 Medical with no restrictions
- Proficiency in Designated Security Duties (PDSD)
- Preferred Ships Security Officer (SSO) CoC
- Minimum 3+ Years on large yachts 80m+
- No COC required but very advantageous if in your possession
- Good health and good sobriety
- Must speak fluent English
- Must have good written references and contact details must be provided
- No visible tattoos and preferably non-smokers
- No criminal record
- Male candidates only
