Silver Swan is currently seeking a Temporary Chalet Couple (Chef & Host) to run a private family chalet in Klosters from the 2nd of January 2026 until Mid-March 2026. The chalet is family-owned and hosts up to 10 guests, in a warm and welcoming environment.
The right couple will take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the chalet: providing high-level hosting, housekeeping, and catering. We are seeking a couple who are hardworking, organised, and reliable – but also friendly, positive, and able to bring a fun and welcoming atmosphere.
The family has always enjoyed fantastic couples over the past 25 years and is looking for a truly special pair to make the season memorable.
Please Note: Candidates must hold an EU passport/Right to work in Switzerland prior to applying as, unfortunately, we do not offer visa sponsorship. If you do not hold an EU passport/Right to work in Switzerland upon applying, your application will NOT be considered.
Responsibilities:
Chef
- Preparing high-quality, healthy meals (light, Mediterranean/Ottolenghi style, with fresh vegetables and minimal cream-based dishes).
- Creating varied menus to suit family-style dining as well as more refined, restaurant-standard evenings.
- Menu planning, budgeting, and shopping (weekly shopping day, usually Tuesdays).
- Maintaining a clean, organised kitchen at all times.
Host
- Daily housekeeping of all bedrooms, bathrooms, and communal areas.
- Preparing breakfast, afternoon tea, and helping serve dinner.
- Setting the chalet for meals, ensuring service is warm and professional.
- Managing laundry, cleaning, and general presentation of the chalet.
- Liaising with guests to ensure all needs are met and that their holiday runs smoothly.
Shared
- Full responsibility for running the chalet independently, from guest welcome through to departure.
- Assisting each other as needed in both kitchen and hosting tasks.
- Sunday changeovers, guest arrivals/departures.
- Driving duties (shopping, transfers where required).
Ideal Candidate:
- EU passport holders / right to work in Switzerland.
- Driving licences required (one confident driver essential).
- Previous chalet experience or relevant hospitality/chef/housekeeping background.
- Positive, friendly, and adaptable, with a love for food and the mountains.
- Able to work well as a team while taking initiative independently.
- Professional, discreet, and genuinely welcoming with guests.
Package:
- Salary: CHF 5,000 - CHF 6,000 Net combined per month
- Accommodation: Private en-suite bedroom within the chalet.
- Ski pass provided.
- Meals during working hours.
- Travel: Return travel to/from the EU included.
- Time off: One full day per week (normally Wednesday) and time off when Family is not in the chalet.
- Expected working hours allow for skiing most days (except Sunday changeover & Tuesday shopping)
- Dates: 2nd o January 2026 until Mid-March 2026.
