We are currently seeking a Permanent First Mate to join a 40m Dual Season Private/Charter Motor Yacht.
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced First Mate to join their 40m dual-season vessel. Operating within the Caribbean and Mediterranean itineraries, the successful candidate will be integral to the smooth running of the yacht, ensuring safety, efficiency, and exceptional guest experiences. This role requires a strong water sports focus, particularly in kitesurfing, wakeboarding and instructing guests on water toys. You will be responsible for managing the crew, overseeing daily operations, and maintaining compliance with maritime safety standards. Your expertise in kitesurfing will enable you to organise and lead exciting water excursions, enhancing guest satisfaction and ensuring memorable experiences onboard. The vessels operates with a large chase boat, previous experience running large tenders and chase boats is a must.
Start Date: Mid to End of January 2026 (Joining in the Caribbean)
Candidate requirements:
- Proven experience as Chief Officer or First Mate on motor yachts, preferably in the 36m - 45m range
- Strong background in kitesurfing with the ability to lead and instruct guests
- In-depth knowledge of maritime safety regulations and best practices
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Experience working within charter yachts
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus
- Valid ENG1 and STCW certifications are essential
- Yacht Master Offshore Commercially Endorsed or higher
- Valid Schengen Visa or EU resident AND B1/B2 in hand
Package:
- Salary: €6,500 pcm
- Leave: 3.67 days paid leave per month
