Summary
HANDS-ON FRENCH-SPEAKING HOUSE MANAGER REQUIRED FOR UHNWI IN PARIS
Location: Paris, France
Salary: EUR 6,000-EUR 6,500 per month, negotiable DOE (net)
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Status: Live-in (separate apartment on site)
We have an amazing opportunity for an organised, self-motivated, and highly hands-on House Manager to support an international ultra-high-net-worth family at their fabulous, historic home in Paris, France. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a lovely UHNW family, managing the day to day running of this part-time property where the family spend about 2-3 months per year in residence.
The House Manager will act as the primary point of contact between the family and the residence, holding full responsibility for the smooth, discreet, and efficient operation of the household at all times. This is a senior, trusted position requiring a high level of accountability, hands-on involvement, and an exceptional standard of service delivery in line with the family’s expectations.
The role oversees the day-to-day management of the property and household staff, while working closely with external partners responsible for technical operations – a management company looks after the technical infrastructure and maintenance of the property, however, the House Manager retains overall operational oversight and ensures that all work is delivered to the required standard.
The household employs two full-time Housekeepers outside of family visits, and during family stays, the House Manager will coordinate with the family’s traveling staff and, where required, engage and supervise local temporary staff. A core part of the role is ensuring staff schedules, duties, and performance are well managed, proactively followed up, and consistently aligned with the family’s standards.
This position requires a hands-on professional who is happy to muck in where required, and not solely a managerial figure. Leading by example, and taking direct responsibility for outcomes, the House Manager must demonstrate genuine care for the property, meticulous attention to detail, and a strong sense of ownership and accountability. Fluency in French and English is required for this position.
Usual working hours will be Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm, with a one-hour lunch break. The House Manager must, however, remain available outside standard hours should the needs of the household require it. When the family are in residence, the role requires significantly increased flexibility, extended hours, and strong personal time management to support the household and visiting staff seamlessly. Accommodation is provided on-site in 1-bedroom apartment with bathroom, kitchen & dining area.
