Overview and Opportunity
We are seeking a professional and highly adaptable Domestic Couple, with a strong preference for couples coming from the yachting industry or those looking to transition from sea-based to land-based positions. Only candidates who hold a Green Card or a U.S. passport will be considered. The couple will oversee the smooth running, upkeep, and day-to-day management of multiple private residences across the United States. Based in Washington, D.C., the Domestic Couple will travel to New York and Minnesota properties, ensuring seamless operations when the Principals are in residence.
This is a hands-on, service-driven role requiring a strong focus on household management, maintenance coordination, and delivering discreet, five-star hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations and maintenance of properties in (NY, MN, DC, and occasionally additional homes).
- Act as the primary point of contact for contractors, vendors, and service providers.
- Coordinate routine and preventative maintenance schedules.
- Manage household budgets, expenses, and petty cash reporting.
- Provide food service and light cooking when Principals are in residence.
- Ensure homes are guest-ready at all times, maintaining housekeeping and presentation standards.
- Stock household supplies, groceries, and special requests in advance of arrivals.
- Organise and manage occasional events or small gatherings.
- Travel between residences in alignment with the Principals’ schedules.
- Oversee smooth transitions when the family moves between homes, including packing, unpacking, and readiness.
- Drive Principals and guests when required.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of all residences.
- Provide laundry, wardrobe management, and light valet services.
- Assist with seasonal property opening and closing as required.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience in private service roles, yacht crew, or in luxury hospitality.
- Hands-on, service-oriented, and proactive with excellent attention to detail.
- Adaptable and flexible to frequent travel and changing schedules.
- Highly trustworthy, discreet, and professional.
- Both candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US.
- Verifiable references from previous employers.
- Willingness to live-in (one-bedroom apartment in Washington, D.C. provided).
