We have a position available for a Business Development Executive with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in yachting or a related corporate field (Recruitment, sales, yacht management company, etc), and a wide network of industry contacts.
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for bringing in new business for the company across multiple departments with a main focus on sourcing roles for our recruitment team.
This full-time remote position is ideal for someone who thrives on building meaningful relationships and engaging with people. This role suits an ex-yacht crew member who still enjoys travelling and engaging with the yachting community, but might be looking for a better work–life balance.
We are ideally looking for someone who is based in Palma however we are open to hiring someone who is located in Europe who has the ability and desire to travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Acquire recruitment roles for the yachting recruitment arm of the company, The Crew Hunter.
- Spot opportunities to engage with current and prospect clients with the aim of selling our training courses that are provided by The Crew Academy.
- Build and nurture client relationships with the end goal of bringing in new business for the whole company.
- Expand the desk strategically by consistently engaging in business development initiatives that attract and secure new clients.
- Be the face of the company and help grow our global footprint both physically and virtually.
- Where time permits, attend and participate in training sessions and courses delivered by The Crew Academy to stay aligned with course content and student experience.
- Participate in industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to expand your professional network.
- Travel to ports, shipyards and other yachting hubs to meet with current and prospect clients.
- Work closely with The Crew Hunter recruitment team to successfully match high-potential crew with suitable job opportunities.
- Work alongside our current Head of Recruitment & Sales Director to help drive new business.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions in our applicant tracking system.
- Stay current with industry trends, changes in regulations, and emerging technologies within the yachting sector.
Qualifications / Experience Required
- A minimum of 5 years experience in the yachting industry or a related corporate field (Recruitment, sales, yacht management company, etc).
- Specialist knowledge of the yachting industry, its key players and industry-specific practices.
- A motivated, sales-driven mindset with a desire to earn uncapped commission.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Proven ability to work independently and remotely while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Ideally based in Palma due to our presence in the area. If not, located in Europe with the ability to travel.
- Willingness to travel. This position requires regular travel, as well as the flexibility to accommodate occasional last-minute travel needs.
- A passion for the yachting industry and a desire to contribute to the success of our candidates and clients.
- Proficiency with technology and strong organisational abilities. You will be expected to track and monitor your performance outcomes.
- The ability to think outside the box and propose new strategies to generate new business.
Package
- Salary - £27,500 - £37,500 (€31,500 - €43,000) DOE.
- Commission – 5% finders free on all recruitment jobs acquired that are then successfully placed by the team. 5% finders fee on all training courses sold.
- Uncapped commission.
- Rolling revenue generated quarterly targets that lead to bonuses.
- All work-based trip expenditure covered.
- 28 Days leave + public bank holidays.
