SECOND OFFICER POSITION - Private yacht that Winters in the Bahamas / Caribbean and Summers in the US East Coast / Mediterranean
Looking for a professional, and mature person to serve as a Second Officer in our deck department. The Second Officer is capable of leading navigational watches with confidence and managing the deck team in daily duties in addition to specialty maintenance projects. The Second Officer will be required to support the Captain, Chief Officer and management structure in every aspect of yacht management.
The ideal candidate would have at least three years industry experience working as a Mate or Bosun.
Start Date: December 1, 2025
Qualifications:
· OOW License, or close to obtaining this
· STCW/Security Awareness and refresher if applicable
· Current medical certificate (ENG1 or US Equivalent)
· Valid Passport
· Valid B1/B2 Visa, and Schengen if applicable
· Valid Drivers License, with a clean driving record
Job Responsibilities:
· Assisting the Chief Officer with administrative and safety duties
· Navigational watches
· Hands on leader of deck crew
· Maintenance and inventory of deck equipment
· Stowage procedures
· Shore transportation, driving owners and guests when required
· Tender driving
Required Skills:
· Ability to assign duties and delegate crew projects
· Extensive maintenance knowledge and skills; cleaning, rust/corrosion, painting, varnishing, rope splicing, fiberglass, carpentry, outboard motors and maintenance product knowledge
· Basic engineering knowledge
· Watch keeping and safety knowledge
· Excellent tender driving skills
· Advanced knowledge of all water sports
Other Requirements:
· Late 20’s to mid-30’s, mature, serious types, well mannered
· Physically fit nonsmokers. No electronic cigarette users
· No visible tattoos
· Neat, clean cut, clean shaven (every day)
· Confident person, personable and loyal with leadership ability
· Polite, and respectful to crew, owner and supervisor – Head Chef, Chief Stewardess, and Chief Engineer
· Longevity with good references
