Summary
We are seeking a skilled Lead Deckhand with at least 1 year experience for a permanent position on a Private 49m motor yacht based in Ft Lauderdale. The yacht will be in transit to Ft Lauderdale arriving mid December where it will be doing a 3 month yard period after which time will be Cruising the US East Coast and Nova Scotia and Canada The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing deck operations, ensuring the maintenance and cleanliness of the exterior and also help out in the interior from time to time. Key responsibilities will include handling mooring and anchoring procedures, conducting safety drills, and assisting in navigation and watch duties. The ideal candidate will possess relevant certifications, strong seamanship skills, and experience in a similar role on yachts of comparable size. A proactive attitude and the ability to work as a team player within a crew of eight are essential. The vessel primarily operates in the North Atlantic Ocean, with a homeport in the United States, offering a dynamic working environment. Candidates should be prepared for a commitment to the role and a willingness to adapt to the challenges of a maritime lifestyle. This is a private yacht with great Owners that spend about 4 months of the year on board. The job comes with a good Health care package along with 1 Months paid vacation after a probation period of 3 months and you have your own Cabin. Not Looking For Couples. Candidates will have to have a B1/2 or a Green Card for this position.
