Summary
Temporary 2nd Engineer – 70m Private - Motor Yacht
To start beginning of December 2025 with a handover period - 10 week contract.
Licence: Y1 certification (or equivalent)
This is a busy program with an exciting off-the-beaten-path itinerary. The vessel requires a B1/B2 visa.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Chief Engineer with the daily operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all mechanical and electrical systems
- Perform planned maintenance on main MTU engines, generators, watermakers, hydraulics, HVAC, and other onboard systems
- Carry out preventative maintenance and repairs on auxiliary systems, including fuel, cooling, and sewage systems
- Monitor engine room operations, ensuring smooth performance and compliance with safety and environmental regulations
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues as they arise
- Maintain accurate engine room logs and maintenance records
- Assist with dry dock and yard periods, including system overhauls and upgrades
- Uphold safety procedures and contribute to a positive team environment
Requirements:
- Y1 certification (or equivalent)
- Valid B1/B2 visa
- Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge
- Workshop skills
- Hands-on approach with excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, busy program
- Proactive attitude, sense of humor, and strong teamwork skills
- Non-smoker
