Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and qualified Chief Officer to oversee the operations and safety of our 60m motor yacht. The ideal candidate will be a male American due to cabin arrangements, citizenship, and must hold the relevant certifications for working on a U.S.-flagged vessel. The Chief Officer will report directly to the Captain and will be responsible for the deck crew, navigational duties, and ensuring the highest standards of safety and service are maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage the deck crew to ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of the yacht.
- Assist the Captain in navigation and passage planning, including watchkeeping duties.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and conduct regular safety drills.
- Oversee the maintenance of all deck equipment, including tenders, toys, and safety gear.
- Coordinate and participate in deck activities, including docking and anchoring procedures.
- Maintain the yacht's inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Implement and enforce company policies and standard operating procedures.
- Provide training and guidance to the deck crew to enhance their skills and performance.
- Liaise with guests to ensure their needs are met and provide a high level of service.
Qualifications:
- Valid STCW certification and relevant yacht certifications (e.g., Chief Mate 3000 GT or higher).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role on motor yachts.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of safety and emergency procedures.
- Familiarity with navigation systems and yacht management software.
