2nd Engineer

Summary

Seeking a hands-on and mechanically minded Second Engineer to join a well-run 68m private motor yacht. Within a team of 5 and ETO. The vessel is powered by Caterpillar 3516 main engines (2984 kW) with Caterpillar generators, and standard equipment for a German build.

You’ll be working closely with the Chief Engineer to carry out planned and preventative maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure smooth daily operations of all engineering systems and provide the Third engineer with guidance and assistance where needed.

Minimum Y3 / SV Second Engineer 9000 kW or equivalent

• Valid ENG1
• STCW95/10 certificates and discharge book
• Previous experience on vessels of similar size
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on approach
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
• B1/B2 visa

Start Date will be 1^st December with no leeway in this date due to prior arrangements with the current 2^nd Engineer. 

Essential Qualifications

Entry Level Qualifications (or equivalent)

• STCW 95 (STCW 2010)
• ENG 1 (Medical Certificate)
• Drivers License

Engineering Qualifications (or Merchant, USCG & AMSA equivalent)

• RIII/3 Y3 Chief Engineer (<500gt <3000kW)/ Chief Engineer (SV) (<500gt 3000kW)

STCW Modules (or Merchant, USCG & AMSA equivalent)

• Advanced Fire Fighting (A-VI/3)
