Summary
Position Overview
We are seeking a professional, experienced Yacht Captain for a full-time, live-aboard position on our 72ft Yacht. The vessel will spend significant time cruising the waters of the Bahamas (including Abaco, Eleuthera, and Exuma) and other selected areas in the US and Caribbean. This is not a charter vessel. The owners and family will be onboard for extended periods and expect a high standard of service, safety, and seamanship. Owners and family are experienced owner/operators of other vessels and happy to assist when necessary but without day to day operational/maintenance responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Safely navigate and operate the yacht throughout the Bahamas, Florida Keys and, occasionally, New England/Chesapeake
Manage/perform daily, weekly, monthly yacht operations, maintenance, readiness and cleanliness
Maintain appropriate ship logs, maintenance records and accounting for expenditures
Ensure the comfort and safety of the owner, family, and guests at all times
Plan and execute itineraries, provisioning, and guest activities including operation of tenders/center consoles/day fishing
Supervise and collaborate as a professional team, maintaining a positive onboard environment
Move the vessel to safety during major storm events
Oversee annual maintenance/repairs
Other reasonable duties and responsibilities as designated by owners
Qualifications
Proven experience as a yacht captain preferably on vessels of similar size
Valid and current maritime licenses and certifications
Exceptional navigational and maintenance skills
US citizen or foreign national with appropriate US Visa
Strong interpersonal and hospitality abilities
Ability to live aboard and commit to a full-time schedule
Experience with CAT C-18 motors and Northern Lights generators a strong plus
Cruising experience in the Bahamas and New England a strong plus

Location
Vessel is presently in dry dock at Savannah, GA for bi-annual bottom paint/normal recurring repairs/maintenance
Upon expected completion on or before 1 December relocate to Stuart, FL then to Marsh Harbour, Abaco, Bahamas late January 2026
