Summary


Vessel:  

·       58 meter private expedition yacht

·       Worldwide cruising with an exciting itinerary

·       Location: Falmouth, UK

Certification Required: 

·       Yachtmaster (Motor or Sail)

·       Standard STCW certification

·       ENG 1.  

·       ISPS DSD 

 

Attributes: 

·       Minimum of 2 years in the industry 

·       Proven previous experience as a Lead Deckhand

·       Strong large tender driving skills (11m twin prop & 6m jet boat)

·       Sailing knowledge (Ideally Yachts or Keelboats)

·       Non-smoking 

·       No visible tattoos 

·       Knowledge on Awlgrip paint and varnish systems

·       Carpentry

The owners and their family want the crew to be a part of their experience onboard and enjoy involving the crew with all their activities. Personality will play a big role in this position. The candidate must be polite, professional and genuine, have a good sense of humour, and enjoy spending time around the guests.

The Lead deckhand would be working closely with the 2nd Officer, with 2 deckhands underneath them, the position will require the person to be strong support to the 2nd Officer and will be expected to run the deck at times when the 2nd Officer is on the bridge. A good level of skill for painting and varnishing will be required for this position.
