Seeking Private Vegan Chef – LAND BASED in Guadalajara, Mexico
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled private chef to join a vegan household in Zapopan, Jalisco (Greater Guadalajara). The ideal candidate will be deeply knowledgeable about plant-based cuisine, including ensuring adequate nutrition, and capable of delivering fresh meals that are both nourishing and elevated. Must have at least a few years of experience as a yacht or restaurant chef (current or former). Experience with vegan Italian, Greek, and Lebanese cuisine is a strong advantage.
This is a full-time, live-out position responsible for family-style cooking on land for four people, preparing three meals per day, five to six days per week. In addition to meal preparation, the chef will be in charge of menu planning, ingredient sourcing, and all provisioning. Entertaining is infrequent (a few times per year). Any travel would be by mutual agreement with per diem and private room provided while away from Zapopan.
Candidates must be fluent in both English and Spanish, comfortable relocating to Mexico, and willing to wear an N95 mask while working indoors or in close proximity to others.
The family offers $50,000-$70,000 USD per year, depending on experience, which goes a long way in Guadalajara, and can provide relocation assistance and work visa support if needed. The position includes a 30-day trial period.
While a prompt start is preferred, the family is flexible on timing for the right candidate, as long as it’s soon.
