Are you an experienced and adventurous Solo Chef looking for a unique opportunity to showcase your culinary talents on a global stage? A private 45m+ motor yacht is seeking a dedicated and creative Solo Chef to join its program, starting in Amsterdam.
The Program:
This is a private, family-oriented yacht with active use and a passion for diverse culinary experiences. We are looking for a chef who is not only skilled in the galley but also embraces the spirit of adventure that comes with a varied cruising itinerary. The yacht is currently completing a shipyard period and needs a proactive chef to establish and execute exceptional menus.
The immediate plan involves departing for the Caribbean for winter cruising, followed by a return to Europe for summer 2026. Beyond summer 2026, the yacht plans to venture further afield, promising truly global and remote destinations where your creativity with local ingredients will shine.
The Role:
As Solo Chef, you will be entirely responsible for all culinary operations on board. This includes provisioning, menu planning, galley management, and delivering exceptional meals that cater to diverse tastes and dietary requirements. Longevity and a genuine desire to become an integral part of the yacht's long-term program are highly valued.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create diverse, exciting, and healthy menus tailored to the owner's preferences and dietary needs.
- Source and utilize fresh, local produce and specialties, especially in remote and international cruising areas.
- Manage all provisioning, inventory, and budgeting for the galley.
- Maintain the highest standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and organization in the galley.
- Accommodate a range of dietary restrictions and preferences with creativity and expertise.
- Work collaboratively with the interior team to ensure seamless service for guests.
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changing itineraries and guest requirements.
About You:
- Proven experience as a Solo Chef on yachts of 45 meters or larger, or similar high-end culinary environments.
- Demonstrated longevity in previous roles, indicating stability and commitment.
- Exceptional creativity in menu development and a passion for exploring global cuisines.
- Skilled in provisioning and working with local ingredients in diverse international locations.
- Highly organized, efficient, and capable of managing all galley operations independently.
- Adaptable, resourceful, and able to thrive in varying cruising conditions.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive, professional attitude.
- Formal culinary qualifications and relevant yachting certifications (STCW, ENG1, Food Hygiene Level 2).
