Summary

DECK/ENGINEER (70/30 Split – Deck Heavy)

We’re looking for a hands-on Deck/Engineer to join our team on board a 54m Mangusta motor yacht powered by four main engines. The role is approximately 70% deck / 30% engineering, with a primary focus on deck operations, maintenance, and guest activities.

Details:

  • Vessel: 54m Mangusta MY + 50ft Wally chase boat
  • Crew: 9 on the main vessel + 2 on the chase boat
  • Itinerary: Interesting, off-the-beaten-track cruising itinerary (Caribean, Cuba, Mexico, Galapagos Islands TBC)
  • Contract: Permanent.
  • Start Date: 1st November

Responsibilities:

  • General deck duties including washdowns, line handling, tender driving, and watersports setup.
  • Maintenance of exterior areas, deck equipment, tenders, and toys.
  • Assist the Chief Engineer with daily checks, preventative maintenance, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Work under the guidance of an experienced Bosun and Chief Officer
  • Support guest operations and ensure safety and seamanship standards are upheld.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar dual-role.
  • Strong deck maintenance knowledge and practical mechanical skills.
  • Certificates: ENG1, STCW Basic Training, Powerboat Level 2 (Yachtmaster a bonus but not essential), AEC1 (required), AEC2 (strong advantage).
  • Valid B1/B2 and Schengen visas are essential.
  • Diving and watersports interest advantageous.
  • Positive attitude, good teamwork, and willingness to learn.
