Mate/Engineer – 32m Private Sailing Yacht

Location: Newport, RI | Start: ASAP

We’re looking for a Mate/Engineer to join a 32m private, foreign-flag sailing yacht. The ideal candidate will have strong engineering skills and solid sailing experience — both are essential for this dual role.

The yacht runs with 3 crew during the winter and 4 during the busy summer season. Winters are typically spent in the Caribbean, while summers pick up in New England, with the owners aboard most weekends.

Applicants must be legally able to work in the U.S.

We have lovely, hands-on owners and a friendly, outgoing crew. Competitive salary DOE and a good leave package offered.

Essential Qualifications

Entry Level Qualifications (or equivalent)

• ENG 1 (Medical Certificate)
• Drivers License
• STCW 95 (STCW 2010)

Engineering Qualifications (or Merchant, USCG & AMSA equivalent)

• MCA Approved Engine Course (AEC 1 & 2) Certificate
